One of the planned results is A NEW APPROACH TO INNOVATION IN EDUCATION THROUGH CONSTRUCTIVE MAPPING that will enable the partners to identify those trends in education and learning that are even from outside the language classroom but that can be tapped to help NLTs change and modernise native language teaching irrespective of the challenges from the new social texture in the classroom and also, at the same time, help them with new skills in classroom management, delivery, tapping of new technologies and in making their teaching more flexible, personalised and mobile that may and are also part of the strategy to meet the said challenges.

One of discussions during the kick-off meeting was about how to build the mapping and then use it to discipline the thinking process and ensure variety of content and outcomes from the training.

1st exercise would be to have the widest possible vocabulary on Teacher Education and this is being carried out as follows:

  • Akdeniz started with full vocabulary set taken from all modules covered by the Faculty of Education,
  • partners all pitch in with vocabulary for the areas directly, indirectly or possibly related to language teaching then
  • partners solicit more input from their networks

2nd parallel exercise is that VisMedNet is installing a technological tool on the platform of the CoP so that the mapping disciplined by vocabulary from Teacher Education (specific to language teaching) and from Drivers of Change can be done in an organised way. This work is ongoing.

The result of this first exercise is in the table below however you can look at the spreadsheet in a separate browser window.
